Pat Differ

VP, Head of Industrial Sales

Pat brings almost four decades of experience as an engineering practitioner in the Operational Technology (OT) space, where he has been exclusively dedicated to automation, instrumentation and cybersecurity problem solving and is considered an expert by his peers in the industry. For the last 15 years, he has narrowed his focus to helping corporations protect their industrial control systems and major critical assets.

 

Prior to Pat joining Mission Secure as the VP, Head of Industrial Sales, he worked as a Sales Executive and Director at several niche companies focused on OT cybersecurity, pen-testing, vulnerability assessments, NIST/ IEC framework control development, and industrial control system (ICS) cybersecurity platforms. Among these notable cybersecurity companies are Dragos, Securicon and Industrial Defender. Pat’s sales experience spans virtually every Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sector including Utilities, Oil & Gas, Transportation, Water and Chemicals, where he has worked with many Fortune 500 companies such as Chevron, PSE&G, American Water, Southern Company, Exelon, Dupont, NYMTA and more.

 

Pat’s achievements range from building business units from scratch to growing regional sales and generating double-digit growth for his companies. In his time at Securicon, Pat built an OP specialized assessment business from the ground floor to a sustainable, multi-million revenue-producing level with very limited upfront investment. Additionally, he achieved the first-ever OT Cyber Platform product installation to scale with the original Industrial Defender mission team and additionally introduced the first Utility 365/24/7 Managed Service combined with an OT cyber platform anywhere in the world. Under his leadership as a Sales Director, he grew the business from zero to over twenty Fortune 500 clients.

 

Pat has an entrepreneurial, action-oriented spirit and excels serving in multifaceted positions. Not only does he have a proven track record of success in technical sales and engineering roles related to industrial control systems, automation, and cybersecurity, but he has consistently achieved significant revenue and customer growth throughout his tenure. Pat received his education from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and holds a degree in computer science with additional studies in economics from UMBC and Johns Hopkins University.  As an intern, Pat worked as a design engineer building Electrostatic Precipitators and Spray Drying Systems.
